Triathlon Training Requires Big Commitment on Part of Triathletes
Triathlon training covers all three parts of a triathlon: running, swimming, and cycling. How much time you’ll need to commit to training depends on what race distance tri you’re planning on entering. If you’re working towards entering a Sprint event, you’ll need to clear about five hours a week for your training
for triathlons.
Race Distance determines how much training you’ll need for the Ironman
Ironman training would probably require anywhere from two to six times more training time. Most people don’t have that kind of time available. If you can eek out 20 hours or so a week, you will probably have enough time
to be an Iron man or Iron woman.
Time saving tips will come in handy for you when you start up your training. Find training spots that are close to you so that you don’t have to travel that far to and back from your
personal training location. If there isn’t a gym close by, consider outfitting your home with some basic weight-lifting equipment to help you build your muscle mass and strength.
Make sure your are following a sports nutrition plan.
Even better, try the Endless
Pools option!
Don’t be afraid to ask for support from your family and friends. The worst thing you want to have happen is to get isolated and lonely. It’s hard enough to train for a triathlon, there’s no sense in it ruining your relationships with others. Stay connected,
practice some self sports psychology and plan to make new friends among your triathlete competition.
