Buying sports equipment is always the fun shiny part of taking up a new sport. Preparing for a triathlon is no different; you could say it’s three times as much fun. Get it? Three? Because you’re swimming, biking and running, that’s why!

If you’re new to Triathlons, here is a brief checklist for you to use when building up your inventory:
* swim suit - for men not a big deal, but for women, make sure you get one with adequate chest support or plan on wearing a sports bra as well
* wet suit - for the triathlete racing in cooler water
* swim cap -Find out if you can use a neoprene one in cooler waters.
* swim goggles
* swim training equipment - for triathlete interested in improving their swim times
* bike - look for bikes built especially for triathlons, a road bike, or a time trial bike
* bike pump
* bike rack - how else are you going to get your bike back and forth from triathlons?
* bike pedals - consider upgrading the standard pedals
* bike handlebars - consider upgrading the standard handlebars
* cycle computer - useful for training for triathlons
* cycle shoes
* cycle clothes - a must for longer races
* running shoes
* running clothes
* running watch - also helpful for training for triathlons
