Olympic swimming ability a plus!

Olympic swimming in a triathlon? Swimming is one of the hardest sports that a triathlete can do. But for some triathletes, swimming can lag behind in terms of their technique. If a triathlete really wants to excel in their swim time, he or she must apply Olympic level criticism of their swimming style.

Consider working on your swimming technique to improve your triathlon race times.

What are we talking about here? We’re talking about working on your technique for swimming in a triathlon. Your swim time is actually due to a combination of both your aerodynamic flow and your propulsion strength. Most triathletes have the propulsion thing down. They’re strong. I don’t know if they have anything but hard muscle on them.

But watch a triathlete swim and you’ll see a lot of splashing and moving around. In comparison, watch an Olympian athlete swimming and they’ll appear to be like a dolphin in the water, sleek with smooth movements, their bodies cutting through the water like a knife.

To improve their aerodynamic flow, triathletes need to work on their shape in the water, as well as their horizontal and vertical alignment. Consider working with a swim coach to improve your swimming technique. The extra effort will show in your next swim time.
