How to run faster is on everybody’s mind

How to run faster is question that is on every triathlete’s mind. Any time you’re in an Ironman, you’re thinking, “How can I improve my time?” Running faster is usually the answer you give yourself.

Tips to incorporate in your Triathlon Training for Speed

To help you with this goal, here are some tips you should incorporate into your Triathlon training:

• Incorporate speed work drills into your training.
• Lift weights. Weight training will strengthen your leg muscles, making them stronger.
• Lose weight. If you weigh less, that means your body has to work less to get you from one place to another. Think about how hard it would be to run with a bag of groceries. Okay, that extra ten pounds you’re carrying around with you is like a bag of groceries. Lose them.
• Work on running posture. Study how marathon winners run. Many of them have very efficient gaits: quick small steps with not a lot of up and down movement. They look like they’re shuffling more than they are running.
• Consider fatigued state. If you train in a fatigued state, you’ll give your body a chance to get used to operating on a fatigued state.
• Nutrition study. Make sure you know what your caloric and nutritional needs are when you are training and actually running in the big race. Race cars need gas. You do, too.

Hopefully these tips will help you with your goal of running faster!
