Cycling Jerseys will protect you in falls during a Triathlon

Wearing cycling jerseys isn’t mandatory during your Triathlon but they can help you in a number of different ways:

• Bike jerseys can protect you shoulders and other parts of your body should you take a tumble during the race.
• Bike jerseys can protect your skin from the sun during the race. You can even buy jerseys that have SPF protection built into them. A regular light color shirt has an SPF of 5 or 10. But a shirt that’s been protected will have an SPF of 30. That means you can stay out 30 times longer with the shirt on than you could without it before you experience any burning from the sun.
• Jerseys designed for cycling often have a pocket built into the back to hold snacks and water for you.
• High performance jerseys will often have better ventilation from either the material used or the design of the jersey. This will help to keep you cool and dry during your cycling event.

Cycling Jerseys Help You Hold It Together

When looking for your jersey, the best thing is to go to the store and try it on. Different brands will wear differently and you also need to consider whether the shirt is supposed to be form fitting or not. Cannondale, Bell, Giordana, and Pearl all make great jerseys for you to wear during your cycling event.
