Cycling Gear geared towards triathlons
Cycling gear has constantly evolving based on the demands of the Triathlon. Triathletes looking to shave time off of their race time can now find gear for their bike event that really does work:
· Helmets. Bike helmets are required wearing for triathletes in competition. But while you don’t have to buy the latest aerodynamic helmets, they can save triathletes time in their bike event.
· Cycle Shoes. From the cleated cycle shoe and clipless pedal combination to the newer transitional pedal, you have your choice of bike shoes to keep you happy. If you decide to stay with your
running shoes, go with the transitional pedal to save you some bike time.

Other gear you’ll want when you’re in your bike event:
· Gloves. Helps keep your hands from cramping up, protects them in case of falls, and help keep them warm in colder temperatures.
· Padded Shorts. A must for longer triathlons to keep your bottom from getting sore or numb.
· Bike Pump and repair kit. Don’t let a flat ruin your day.
Finally, bike gear has been developed to help keep triathletes hydrated:
· Hydration Packs. Cycling hydration systems that will let you continuously drink fluids without having to take your hands off the handlebars.
· Bottle cage. Attaches to your bike to hold your water bottle until you need it.
· Jersey Shirts with back pockets. These back pockets are big enough for you to store food and water in them.
Keeping properly hydrated is a very important health issue for triathletes both during training sessions and when they participate in triathlons.
